FRANCESCA

COVERINI

SOPRANO

Italian-American soprano, Francesca Coverini, is a versatile and charismatic face in the world of opera. She is a native of Naples, Florida with a deep love for performing on stage. Her passion began when she was little, putting on talent shows for family and friends as a little girl.

This season Ms. Coverini took the stage as Nora in Ralph Vaughan Williams’ tragic rendition of Riders to the Sea at the Peabody Institute. In the spring she will be featured in the chorus of Die Fledermaus while performing around the greater Baltimore area in libraries, retirement homes, schools, and churches as a part of her mission to bring opera into the community.

Ms. Coverini has portrayed numerous iconic roles on stage such as Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Suor Dolcina (Suor Angelica), Suor Genovieffa cover (Suor Angelica), Despina (Così fan Tutte), Fido (Brundibár), and Goldie B. Locks (Goldie B. Locks and the Three Singing Bears). Ms. Coverini was also featured in numerous contemporary works such as two world premiere one-act operas, a staged adaption of Ricky Ian Gordon’s Orpheus and Euridice, and the partial role of Beth (Little Women) and Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro).

Ms. Coverini strongly believes in seeing diversity in the world of the arts, striving to paint an example herself as a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
